1/15/2013 0 Comments Day 0 - All aboard CX881!This post has been backdated and re-posted from my previous blog as it is due for closure sometime in August. Farewell, Jux. You were cool while you lasted.
--- En route to Hong Kong. Tediously typed with two index fingers on my iPad's Notepad (Thanks big sis.) I'm finally aboard Cathay Pacific and I think I'm getting a little delusional. Let me detail my train of thoughts over the past 20 minutes. On the shuttle from the departure gate to the actual airplane awaiting our ground arrival: "Jeez this shuttle ride is so long. It's so dark. Why did they turn out the lights? Ohh probably so it doesn't distract the pilots as they land... Duh. But wow, this shuttle ride is ridiculously long...what the hell, do they plan on driving us to Hong Kong?" Upon arrival of the airplane: "Whoaaaa I'm standing in front of th-- Aw curses. Pause. I need to switch off my iPad . Brb. Okay continuing now. "Whoaaaa I'm standing in front of the jet engine ! I wonder if anyone will take a picture for me (no)" On the airplane: "Nicee the seats look so comfy and spacious! Ballinn'. Oh wait, that's business class." "Oh shit the plane is taking off - no turning back now." "Man I'm glad I have so much leg room (~two feet)" "Okay the plane is really taking off - must turn off phone data or else my mom will kill me for the phone bill. Omg no more phone contact for now. I don't know the Hong Kong equivalent of 9-1-1! I'm stranded I'm stranded!!! Meh. I'll just find WiFi." Pilot: "The flight will be 14 hours and 51 minutes. Have an enjoyable flight " Meanwhile, the screen in front of me illustrates the distance from Los Angeles to Hong Kong on an animated map. 4xxx miles. Say hello to the Pacific Ocean . Wave to Hawaii as we pass on by. Oh look there's Tokyo just 10 hours into the ride. My face: D: Maybe I was just a little frantic/sleep-deprived. Or perhaps it's undiagnosed ADD.
